Michaela is a queer woman originally from Aroostook County, Maine. After high school, she ventured across the country, but returned to her roots in 2022. Coming back to Maine has deepened her appreciation for the unique queer experiences in rural areas, while also highlighting the isolation that can often come with them. Through Queer & Rural, she hopes to connect with other queer individuals, celebrate their stories, and create a supportive community that anyone, no matter where they are, can be a part of.
